Jim Vanides

Jim Vanides is a senior education consultant and advisor to organizations around the world that are passionate about creating extraordinary learning experiences for students. 

Jim’s experience includes more than a decade of leadership in Corporate Philanthropy for HP, where he was instrumental in launching over 1500 primary, secondary, and higher education projects in 41 countries.

As an advocate for teacher professional learning, Jim teaches an online course for Montana State University on the Science of Sound, a conceptual physics course for K12 teachers. 

Jim holds a BS in Engineering and a MA in Education, both from Stanford University.
ADVISORY BOARDS:

California Science Project (2015 to date), helping to advance the Next Generation Science Standards in California (an initiative of the UC Office of the President)

California STEM Network, an initiative of Children Now (2016 to date), advancing STEM education practice and policy in California

New York Hall of Science “Designing for Diversity” INCLUDES Project (2016 to date), supporting a Networked Improvement Community to broaden the participation of diverse youth in computational careers (an NSF-funded INCLUDES project, in collaboration with the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching)

International Journal on Innovations in Online Education, IJIOE (2018 to date), with a focus on early innovations that have are of interest to the higher education community. 

The Tech Museum of Education (2012-2015), a destination hands-on experience where students, young adults, and families come to experience the innovation “magic” of Silicon Valley. Jim was active in the education strategy and led the Tech Edu Advisory Committee.
